Sand Filter Operation:

FILTERSet valve to FILTER for normal filtering.  Use FILTER for regular

           vacuuming as well.

 

 

BACKWASHING - Backwash when Gauge reads 50 Kpa above startup pressure.
 

      1. Shut off Pump

      2. Set to BACKWASH

      3. Start pump and run for 2-3 minutes, or until the water in the Sight Glass is clear.

      4. Shut off Pump

      5. Set to RINSE

      6. Start pump and run for approximately 30 seconds, or until the water in the Sight           Glass is clear.

      7. Shut off Pump.

      8. Set to FILTER.

      9. Start pump.

 

 
RINSEAfter Backwashing, this Ensures all dirty water is rinsed from filter to waste, and not returned to the pool.  
RECIRCULATEWater bypasses the filter and returns directly to the pool.
 
   
CLOSEDShuts off flow from pump to filter.  DO NOT RUN PUMP IN THIS SETTING.
 
   

WASTEWater goes directly to the Waste line, without filtration.
 

   

VACUUMING—Vacuuming can be performed directly into the filter.  When vacuuming heavy debris loads, set valve to WASTE position to bypass the filter and vacuum directly out to waste.
